I’m a doctoral researcher and technology consultant working across technology policy, infrastructure and resilience.
My work examines the relationships between technologies, institutions and the communities they serve—with a focus on critical infrastructure and societal resilience.
I am based in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the University of Strathclyde and bring an interdisciplinary perspective shaped by mathematics and technology policy.
How governance, education and public institutions can help steer technology toward broadly shared benefits.
How the systems that support daily life connect, adapt and respond to changing conditions.
What enables communities and organisations to anticipate, absorb and learn from disruption.
The policy and systems questions that accompany a more connected, low-carbon energy future.
Sport has always been an important part of my life. I started swimming competitively at seven and went on to represent Scotland and Britain in freestyle and butterfly. I also competed nationally in basketball and athletics.
During a semester exchange, I was a varsity rower at the University of Toronto. My rowing career ended with a slipped disc. Several years and many health professionals later, I found knowledgeable CrossFit coaches who have helped me move, train and compete pain free.
I recently entered a triathlon on a whim and placed first among women and 13th overall. Now I’m excited to see where it takes me!
